Description
Shy sixteen-year-old Ramona uses cosplay as a way to escape her shyness and feel seen, but when she emails her crush using her online persona, Rel, and he starts to fall for her, Ramona must decide whether to hide behind her character forever or take a chance and let her crush see the real her.
Description
Ramona Lambert's best friend has moved away; her parents don't quite understand her love of cosplay; and she is pretty sure her crush has no idea she exists. Her cosplay character, Rel, gives her the confidence and freedom she lacks in real life. When she decides to strike up an email conversation with her crush, Caleb Wolfe, from her cosplay account in the hopes getting to know him, the two are swept up in their emails back and forth to each other. Ramona falls even harder as Caleb opens up about his hopes, insecurities, and his own geeky loves. When they meet in real life, Ramona knows she can't keep the truth about Rel from Caleb but isn't sure she is ready to risk losing him. With a cosplay convention coming up, she has to decide if she'll hide behind her cosplay character forever or take the chance and let Caleb see the real her. -- adapted from jacket
